Belgium Will Host Regional HQ in 2021

North Pole Flight Command is pleased to report that the city of Sint Niklaas, Belgium will be home to Sector 3’s Regional Headquarters. Sector 3 covers Europe and the Africa.

A regional tracking center is just an extension of North Pole Flight Command. It is staffed by professional elves and equipment with state-of-the-art tracking equipment that is specifically engineered to follow the path of Santa’s sleigh in the assigned region.

As a historic resting spot for traders between Antwerp and Ghent, Sint-Niklaas boasts the biggest market space of Europe. This is another city named for the ancient St. Nicholas.

Elf Rolf Jansen, who happens to the Elf Supervisor for Sector 3, is very familiar with Sint-Niklaas. He studied astrophysics there prior to his work in sleigh design at the North Pole. “I love Sint-Niklaas. The people there are just the best. It can get cold there, which makes it an ideal location for Sector 3. I’m very excited to return and to spend Christmas there!”

Ancient City of St. Nicholas to Be a Regional HQ

North Pole Flight Command is pleased to report that the city of Demre, Turkey will be home to Sector 2’s Regional Headquarters. Sector 2 covers Asia and the Middle East.

A regional tracking center is just an extension of North Pole Flight Command. It is staffed by professional elves and equipment with state-of-the-art tracking equipment that is specifically engineered to follow the path of Santa’s sleigh in the assigned region.

Demre is a town and its surrounding district in the Antalya Province on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, named after the river Demre.

Elf Dr. Grant Smedley, professor of history at Southern North Pole University, says the location of this regional head quarters has special significance to fans of Santa Claus. “Demre is home to the ancient St. Nicholas, who famously became the Bishop of Myra. Some believe the origins of Santa Claus were founded on the legend of St. Nicholas. Santa, of course, is an enthusiastic scholar of St. Nicholas and of history. He’s really happy about this announcement.”

New Zealand City to Anchor Sector 1

North Pole Flight Command is pleased to report that the city of Bethlehem, New Zealand will be home to Sector 1’s Regional Headquarters.

A regional tracking center is just an extension of North Pole Flight Command. It is staffed by professional elves and equipment with state-of-the-art tracking equipment that is specifically engineered to follow the path of Santa’s sleigh in the assigned region.

Bethlehem is a suburb of Tauranga in New Zealand’s North Island.

“We realize this is a very urban area, which is an unusual location for a regional tracking center,” said Elf Roger Star, International Director of Santa Trackers. “But we find this location especially beneficial for a number of reasons, especially the weather and the north-facing views. We have quite a few tracker elves in New Zealand and expect to have many more. We think this will be a great location to coordinate all our activity in Oceania.”

Regional Tracking Centers To Be Named Soon

Everything is happening faster at the North Pole this year – even the scouting and the naming of Regional Tracking Centers.

In every service sector North Pole Flight Command sets up a regional tracking center. These tracking centers are basically no different than the big tracking center at the North Pole. They are just smaller and focus on their particular region.

In years past the effort to name a location in each sector has been followed by a scouting mission to find just the right place to put it. But this year it’s different.

Each region is being scouted now. We will soon be announcing the cities where each tracking center will be located. Once it is named, we will send constructions crews out to build out the facility, to be following by staffing.

It is the general goal to have each regional center operational by December 1st. Santa is pushing that up this year and wants everything ready to roll by November 1st.

That’s why things are moving along now.

We expect announcements very soon about city locations.
