Radar Indicates Return of Reindeer

Reindeer Return

Radar at North Pole Flight Command has detected a very large number of reindeer are on approach to the North Pole Sleigh Port. It appears the return of Santa’s reindeer is imminent.

Santa’s reindeer leave the North Pole in mid-to-late January every year after Christmas is over. They return to their home countries and are unsupervised over the summer months in their native habitat.

They return to the North Pole at unscheduled times in the autumn on their own. Santa does not call them back to the North Pole unless there is some kind of emergency.

By special arrangement, those reindeer assigned to the test flight teams of Santa’s sleigh come back in early summer. But the bulk of Santa’s reindeer do not return until sometime in September or October.

Contrary to popular opinion, tens of thousands of reindeer work in the service of Santa for Operation Merry Christmas.

Their return is highly anticipated each year.
