Amelia Test Flights Begin Over the North Pole
Elf Roger Star has signed off on the final build and inspections of Amelia, Santa’s new sleigh. The first test flights of this first version of the new sleigh will begin soon over the skies of the North Pole.
Although 32 sleighs were ordered, only 4 sleighs are presently scheduled for flight. Those four sleighs will require a rotation of all 72 reindeer presently on the test flight team.
The first flights over the next two weeks will be limited to short distances and low altitude flights. Fundamentals of take-off’s, landings and basic aerial maneuvering are the focus of the next few weeks.
If major adjustments are needed authorization for a new sleigh build – tentatively to be named Beatrice – will be needed from Santa Claus.
Some are questioning whether 32 sleighs were needed for the first version of the new sleigh. Elf Roger says it is too early to question that decision at that the flight plans as drawn up will see all 32 sleighs in flight eventually during the month of June.
We will keep you posted.
