Reindeer Tracking Office Opens
North Pole Flight Command has opened the Reindeer Tracking Office, it was announced today.
It could be a sign that the return of Santa’s reindeer to the North Pole is happening soon. Santa’s reindeer famously leave in January of every year and return to the North Pole as the summer season closes.
It was reported that the Reindeer Operations Department at the North Pole was preparing for the return of the reindeer a few weeks ago.
The Reindeer Tracking Office uses technology to track Santa’s reindeer in every part of the world. But that technology is only engaged when the reindeer are at the North Pole and actually working for Santa.
As the reindeer return they are given a physical by North Pole Reindeer Care Teams and that is when the technology is engaged. They monitor each reindeer for their wellness and ability to function. During their residency, training and ultimately their work for Santa they are monitored full time for their location, condition, fatigue level and other physical needs. The Reindeer Tracking Office works with reindeer handlers to see that the reindeer are healthy as they work their assignments for Santa.
Once the season is over and they prepare to return to their homelands, the tracking technology is returned.
We often get asked why we don’t keep that technology active all year long. Santa does not want to do that. He claims the reindeer thrive under natural conditions and do not require constant monitoring by the North Pole.
The reindeer return every season without the aid of technology. Occasionally there is a need for them or at least of group of them earlier than September and when that happens word is sent through a network of ranches Santa keeps through out the world that he is looking for a particular reindeer. Somehow they always seem to show up when Santa needs them.
While much of the work of reindeer and how it all gets done is secret we see the sign of opening the Reindeer Tracking Office as meaning they will be back at the North Pole soon.
