Santa Begins Meetings

The business of Operation Merry Christmas begins by looking back on what happened in 2025. Before any plans are made for Operation Merry Christmas 2026 Santa wants to know what went right, what went wrong and what can be done better.

Christmas 2025 will long be remember for the epic crisis in Santa’s workshop. You can bet Santa wants to talk about that.

But in reviewing the year just completed Santa will, as he usually does, work backwards. And that means he begins with North Pole Flight Command and everything that was done to help him get around the world.

We all know the goal. Next year the goal is to do better than last year.

Elf Roger Star, director of North Pole Flight Command, is very familiar with this process. He goes through it with Santa every January.

Santa will first meet with Roger and then Elf Roger will meet with his elf supervisors. Step by step, department by department, they will review how Santa got around the world and they will discuss ideas about how to do it better this year.

For some elves this is a hard process. It is difficult to look back and admit that maybe mistakes were made. But Santa always says that’s not the point. The point is to do better.

Santa will ask these questions and go through this process first with Flight Command. Then he will talk to the leading elves in the Reindeer Operations Department, the Sleigh Department, then the Workshop and the Wrapping Department and the North Pole Post Office.

Every elf in every job  at the North Pole will eventually go through this process.

By the end of January we will all have new goals and fresh ideas on how to make Operation Merry Christmas better next year.

It won’t be all meetings either. There will be changes during the cold dark month of winter.

With a little more than 350 days until Santa launches again it is the first of many, many steps to a Merry Christmas next year.
