15 Days to Santa’s Launch

15 Days to Santa's Launch

Santa’s launch from the North Pole happens in just 15 days.

This is the point in the season when many people discover that our countdown clock does NOT countdown to Christmas. That’s because Santa launches well before Christmas. He leaves the North Pole just before Christmas Eve dawns in Sector 1. For folks in Sector 1, Santa leaves in the dark early morning hours of December 24th. For folks in Sector 5, it is actually late in the evening of December 23rd. For everyone else it is sometime in-between.

As the days and hours count down all eyes are on Santa’s Workshop – which as of last week was still 33 days behind schedule –, on Santa’s reindeer, on the weather, and on the overall elf effort called Operation Merry Christmas.

Most efforts outside of the crisis in Santa’s workshop are on track. Santa’s sleigh is just about ready. All the reindeer are healthy. North Pole Flight Command is preparing a flight plan for Santa and the News Department is getting ready to cover it all on the Tracking Santa Around the World Radio show on Kringle Radio.
