Test Flight Update
The test flights of Santa’s sleigh – currently a model named Eunice – are presently underway in the Pacific.
According to flight analysts at North Pole Flight Command results recently have been much better. It is expected, however, based on current data, yet another new model is soon to be produced.
As previously reported, the test flights are shifting away from the Pacific. Flight planners tell me that test flights will head to Sector 3 for at least the first half of September. This is the first time this year test flights will be scheduled in Sector 3.
Santa has ordered, as part of the test flight routine in Sector 3, for all new mapping in that Sector.
Mapping is a detailed process of reimaging an entire sector. Over time, as populations expand and contract, natural development of neighborhoods and roads change. The sleighs are programmed as flights progress through the region to re-photograph in detail what changes have taken place.
Sector 3 was last remapped in 2021. So this is long overdue.
It does not require anything special of the test flight crews to remap the sector. It is all handled by onboard equipment and computers at Flight Command. The test flights just need to fly over the complete sector.
So the test flights, no matter what the current model sleigh is, will be over Sector 3 until the remapping project is done. That will take at least two weeks.
