Huge Class of Pilot Trainees

Pilot Trainees

A rushed and very full class of sleigh pilot trainees have just started their training at the North Pole.

Elf Buck Sanchez says they have exhausted all their contacts of known sleigh pilots around the world. They have recruited retired pilots, rookie pilots, pilots with Arctic military service experience, and other interested aviators who want to work for Santa.

“They all have flight experience of some kind, just not necessarily with sleighs” Elf Buck said. “We’ve got about 160 days to get them into simulators, where they have to certify, and into flight theory, which they have to pass. Then we begin flight training – likely in a way that will involve one of more of the sleigh craft carriers of the North Pole Navy. After all of that, if they do well, we might get them into some of those new sleighs to test them.”

Santa has expressed confidence that Elf Buck can get the more than 2000 new pilots through their training before Christmas.

Both the Pilot School at North Pole Flight Command and the Reindeer Operations Department really have their hands full as we head into the last half of July.

We will keep you posted on their progress.
