Sector 4 Regional Tracking Center Announced
Christmas Island, Jamaica, located in the Caribbean, has been named the location for the Regional Tracking Center for Sector 4 this year.
This is the 2nd time ever that a Regional Tracking Center has been located in the Caribbean. (Aruba was the location several years ago).
“We like the weather there and the central location between the diverse areas we serve in South America, the Atlantic and Greenland,” said Elf Tubby Ryder. “For elves from the North Pole, it’s a pretty singular experience for us to spend Christmas in a place so tropical. We love it. We love the food. We love the people. We’re going to have a great Christmas.”
Jamaica has great Christmas traditions and the elf team assigned to Sector 4 is very excited to be located there.
The precise location of where in Christmas Island the center will be has not been disclosed for security purposes.
The building is new, modern, fully air conditioned and ready for move-in by North Pole elf teams. They have set a target date of July 17th to be completely operational.
