Sector 1 Regional Tracking Center Announced
We are pleased to announce that the vast area of Sector 1, covering New Zealand, Australia and all the island nations of the Pacific Rim, will be serviced out of a new Regional Tracking Center location in Christmas Island, Australia.
Australia lays claim to TWO places known as Christmas Island. There is the larger and more famous external territory of Christmas Island located in the Indian Ocean — a location that was actually considered as a possibility for the Regional Tracking Center for Sector 2 because it is more central to Asia and the Middle East.
This Christmas Island, located in the Australian state of Tasmania, is a small, remote and sparsely populated south west of Melbourne. Due to its isolated location and hot December temperatures it is ideally suited to meet Santa’s flight needs for Sector 1.
Elf Randi Hume and team will be set up an operational there well ahead of Santa’s August 1st deadline.

Thank you, Elf Meg! Wow, congratulations, Christmas Island in Australia! The three Sectors’ Regional Tracking Centers are “Christmas Islands!” Wonderful! I love their choice! I remember that I ordered a Christmas card that I wrote to deliver from the island to my family! Elf Randi, thank you again for coming to Japan last year for the tracking center. I hoped I could see you in Otaru then.
I’m looking forward to working with you for Santa! Have a wonderful trip and be safe! Happy Christmas in July! 🎊🎅🎄😆
