Clara Deployed
The latest version of Santa’s sleigh, code named Clara, has been deployed. Flight schedulers indicate it may stay in Greenland for several days.
This closes the books on the previous version, named Beatrice. She is getting very mixed reviews from the Sleigh team at the North Pole.
“Our routine with this sleigh is very different because we’re rushing this design,” said Elf Charity Pickle, head of the Sleigh Department. “I’m convinced it’s a good sleigh. But it is hard to feel that way given the stage we are at. It feels like this sleigh is just crawling along and that’s because we have to do this work. This part of it we cannot rush. So it feels slow and I think that is causing some to think this sleigh isn’t good. For how we have tested, the sleigh is doing well. It might take several more months before elves feel better about it.”
When asked if the large order of 3500 sleighs placed on the Sleigh Department was adding to the woes with the test flights Elf Charity was emphatic. “No,” Elf Charity said. “Building a fleet of sleighs is a different thing entirely than testing a new design. Two different things. We are going to get those sleighs built.”
Santa revealed in Santa Chat at SantaUpdate.com over the weekend that he will be test flying the new sleigh himself. This is significant news. Nobody can remember a time when Santa has spent time on an untested sleigh design. Santa insists it is as much about giving himself training as it is testing the sleigh.
