Bad Weather Persists at the North Pole
A sharp increase in wind has made conditions for flight crews at the North Pole. Operation Airlift, the effort to support Santa through the launch of thousands of sleighs hauling freight, elves and supplies around the world, is moving now at a slower pace. Several hours ago officials said the operation was 36 hours off the pace. Now it is even further behind.
“We would have chosen more snow over more wind,” explained Flight Director Elf Buck Sanchez. “Snow we can move. Wind we can do nothing about. Wind destabilizes full flying sleighs. We have to slow down our launch cycle for safety reasons.”
Elf Buck is not willing to estimate how many hours this set back will be. With Santa’s launch scheduled in a little more than 24 hours many around the world are growing concerned.
We will keep you posted.

Thank you, Elf Meg! Oh, we have the wind problem, too! I hope they have wind-protecting equipment. Do they have a giant tube to put sleighs through? Or they use underground lanes. I hope we can solve it! XD
