Reindeer Assignment Desk Expands
In anticipation of 5000 new reindeer recruits for more than 3500 new sleighs expected to be deployed in time for Christmas the Reindeer Assignment desk at North Pole Flight Command is being expanded.
Some would think reindeer assignments would be the work of the Reindeer Operations Department. It’s not. That belongs to North Pole Flight Command.
“We only train them, get them physically fit and carefully paired into teams,” said Elf Victor, head elf of Reindeer Operations at the North Pole. “But Flight Command assigns them based on parameters they only know about in regards to Santa’s priorities.”
Reindeer Operations will grade each reindeer, giving them scores in various categories and place recommended location preferences for each one. Some are prone to having fatigue issues in tropical climates, where others are better for short-burst of high speed delivery duty while other excel in projects demanding greater stamina.
Where each reindeer ends up serving and how is determined by experts in Flight Command who oversee the Reindeer Assignment Desk. The staff there, due to the influx of new reindeer expected in December, will expand by 38% in the coming weeks as they receive training in their new duties.
North Pole Flight Command is the largest working department at the North Pole and all the new sleigh dynamics are seeing several sub-departments expand for the months ahead.
